It is with great fondness that I will recall the visits Doug made to the Apohaqui Post office. He often brightened up the day with his impersonation of Mrs Doubtfire. Always in good humor even during his last visit Doug was always up for a good discussion and loved a good political round when he met up with Leroy at the Post office.
Thanks to you Doug for many smiles and bringing much laughter.

My deepest condolences go to Doug's family. It brings me sadness to hear the passing of such a great man. As I was reading the thoughtful letters from those touched by Doug, I can see I was not the only one that had sensed such a caring and kind man. I had the privilege to work with Doug and can sincerely make the statement, "a wise man once said" in his reference.
Going raccoon hunting with Doug is one of those things I still talk about today. These hunting experiences would had never happened if it was not for Doug. As Doug would say, " you know your having fun when two RCMP cars show up ". May you rest in peace Doug.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dougs family and friends. I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to work along side of Doug , and get to know his "gruff on the outside, gentle on the inside" personality. Ever since I had first met Doug when I was a teenager, he always called me "Heather Oakley's son", and even the last time I spoke to him, he still called me that with a big grin. He was an asset to his profession and was greatly missed after he left in 2007. Now, he will be greatly missed again, but will live in our hearts and guide our hands. My deepest condolences.

Doug was a fine gentleman and a character in every sense of the word ! I shared many a conversation with" Dougie" in my days as an Emergency Room Doc and his as a Paramedic. Doug was a very kind and compassionate paramedic and never praised his own work...he simply went about his business and let his skills do the talking.Doug and I had many talks in the wee hours about deer hunting..a topic that he held dear to his heart. I respected everything he shared.....and especially when he brought deer steaks in as a treat for me ! The world needs more of people built like Doug Stevens !!!
