My condolences to Mabel's family at this difficult time. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. I will always remember Mabel fondly and for the things she taught me in the short time I knew her. I am so thankful for being able to know Mabel.

Mabel and I grew up together as her family were neighbours of ours. Mabel walked with me to my first day of school! She was in Grade 3 and I was just starting.
When I was born there was a major blizzard gong on. The Doctor got stuck in the snow coming to our house, so my Dad and my Uncle Bev. McMillan went in their car to get the Doc. Before they left, they got Mrs. Hughson to stay with Mom. I was born before they returned home, and Mrs. Hughson handled the birth all by herself!! Mom and my family were forever grateful for her amazing assistance.
Mabel was always a good friend to me and I remember when she met Paul. She said I have found "My Man" She used to lend me her bicycle very often, for which I was very happy
Rest In Peace, Mabel. Love from Marion (Cook) Simpson and my family and parents Florence and Alex Cook who have passed on. I too, am the last surviving member of my family.

I am so sorry to hear of Mabel's passing and am so sorry I will not be able to attend the funeral or visitation. I consider myself very lucky and blessed to have met such an amazing woman. She taught me so much - from cooking tips, to our many faith conversations, antiques, and how almost everything can be bought in purple. We shared a lot of laughs and even a few tears. Peter and Barb, I wish you much comfort, peace, and many happy memories of Mabel to get you through this difficult time. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you both,
