Obituary of Frankie Edward Wiggins

It is with great sadness and shock that the family shares the passing of Frankie Edward Wiggins. Frankie was born at Coles Island, NB on June 6, 1942, the only son of Frank and Mary (Campbell) Wiggins. Frankie is survived by his wife, Nancy (Snodgrass); son, Peter (Sunita) and their children: Karley, Madeline, Reika, Kiandra and Alex; daughter Heather (Bruce) and their children: Maia, Anders and Stella; sisters: Jeanette Young, Margaret Morrison (Ronald) and Joan Gullison (Eugene); as well as several nieces, nephews ,cousins and close friends. He is predeceased by his sister, Pauline in infancy. Frankie was the archetypical country lover. He mirrored the saying, “You can take the boy out of the country but you cannot take the country out of the boy.” Frankie spent many years in Fredericton, working hard, raising a family and longing to be back in Coles Island. Frankie started out delivering the rural mail and in lumbering. He then worked for one employer doing construction in Fredericton until retirement. Every weekend and summer he took refuge where the “Camp” was home sweet home. An avid creator, Frankie would listen to the kitchen “wants” of others and turn those words in to cabinetry. Loading up the trailer took two forms- the fifth wheel for Florida get-aways and cross Canada adventures and the side by side for exploring the dirt roads around N.B. with friends. Frankie was the culinary guru of the family. Food was his way of showing love and his desire to bring people together. Frankie looked forward to the weekend and summer visits from grandchildren- always having treats and chocolate milk in the fridge. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8pm. A service celebrating Frankie's life will be held from Young's Cove United Church on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 2:00pm. If you are considering making a memorial donation the family has recommended the Young’s Cove United Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice. www.wallacefuneralhome.com
