Obituary of Joseph "Joe" Clarence McLong

 

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph "Joe" Clarence McLong at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 23, 2018 at the age of 64.

 

Born in Sussex, NB on May 12, 1953, he was the son of the late George and Florence (McFarlane) McLong.

 

Joe enjoyed his family immensely. He loved spending time with them whether they visited or chatted on the phone. Many great memories were made.  Joe loved a good joke and loved to tease his nieces and nephews. He was a loving and good hearted man.

 

Joe loved being outdoors whether it was gardening, fishing or walking. His passion was always his time spent in his garden.

 

He will live on in the hearts of his siblings: Carl McLong and his wife Joan of Sussex, Leona McLong of Sussex, Jean McLong of Sussex and George McLong and his wife Kim of Southfield; his brother-in-law, Randy McPhee of Penobsquis; his uncle, Clarence McFarlane; as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and six great great nieces. Along with his parents, Joe was predeceased by his sister, Ruby McPhee.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). At Joe's request no visitation or funeral service will be held. There will be a private graveside service at a later date.
