I am so sorry for your loss. Jamie was a great person. I met him in 2001 in Harrington Hall at St. Thomas University. I got to know him better in my second year when his room was two doors down from my own. He always had a smile and was quick to share a laugh. A few years after university I had the chance to work with him at Sussex Middle School. It was fun to catch up and to be colleagues. I, and I’m sure everyone who knew him, will not forget his kindness, his easygoing nature, and his sense of humour. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

Dear Laura and family,
I was blessed to meet such an exceptional teacher while I would sit in his class as an EA at SMS. Jamie had a gift to teach and he was so respected by his students and fellow staff. Jamie also stood alongside the sidelines cheering on the SMS team as they ran at the cross country field meets; sometimes we all got soaked with rain but that would never dampen his spirit. He was an awesome guy who will be greatly missed. I no longer live in the Sussex area but I am sending prayers and healing light to surround you and all your family over the difficult days ahead. He was a pure soul, he helped me when I had no friends, he was that kind of teacher. Just to make school more exicting more and fun. He helped me pass , he helped me when I was picked on. He was a family man the class felt like family even though I was only in his home room for the last 3 months. He was exicted for his twins, he would ask for name ideas he would talk about them like he already held them. He was over the moon and happy , about the twins. He’d always tell us how his wife was doing. I don’t know what else to say, but he was a family man.. He seen the best in all of his students. My heart breaks for everyone who had him part of thier life. He was a good teacher and a good man. Rest in peace you wont be forgetten.

We met James when he came into Laura's life. We could see there was an instant bond and true love. We got to know James as a positive individual full of life. To my wonderful brother Jamie. We spent many nights video chatting on the phone and texting while you were in the hospital. Our private conversations that we will cherish forever. You had the best sense of humor and you were so laid back. We had a good laugh about the times we took you back and forth to University each Fall and Spring. When we went white water rafting in Ottawa we had the most exciting time together. The best times were when Danny and I played video games in the basement with Jamie when you were young at mom and dad's. Leslie and I will always cherish the memories we had with you. Jamie was one of the good guys. We met at STU and I had just moved into Harrington. I would soon learn all about being a Harrington Raider. Trips to The Cellar happened with many laughs and I knew at quitting time, I had a kind friend in Jamie and the boys, walking several of us girls home as Jamie wanted to ensure all STU folk arrived home safely. He also was part of the Harrington Raiders that played pranks - I came home to a room full of newspapers up to my chest! Just another night in Harrington. We lost touch after STU. I was pumped to see him at SRHS and discovered that he had twin boys. I have twin girls. We thought it was something in the STU water. I was looking forward to working with him again because Jamie always had a quick joke and a laugh. My heart goes out to his beautiful family; I hope memories bring you some comfort.

Jamie Middleton was a dear friend i got the chance to make his acquaintance when i was kicked out of school for 3 months and i had to get a tutor and i was lucky enough to get Jamie and with his help i didnt fall behind in my school work.
