Obituary of Blaine Friars

Mr. Blaine Douglas Friars was born in Sussex on September 9, 1957; He was the son of the late Clarence Friars and Elsie (Bickford).

 

Blaine was first and foremost a family man. There was nothing more important to him in life than his girls.

 

He recently retired from the Department of Health as an agricultural technician.

 

He enjoyed curling and he coached the girls softball.  He was the past president of Sussex Skating Club and the board for the Atlantic Balloon Fiesta.   He was a past member of Sussex Fire Department and a member and leader of the 4-H.

 

He will live on in the hearts of his loving wife Susan; his daughters: Jillian of Fort McMurray and Alicia of St. Paul; his brothers: Thomas Friars and his wife Linda of Riverview and Richard and his wife Del of Calgary; his sister, Diane Robinson of Fredericton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

Mr. Blaine Douglas Friars of Smiths Creek, passed away at the Sussex Health Center on September 11, 2018 at the age of 61.

 

Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his stepfather, Harold Friars; his nephew, Neil Friars and by his brother-in-law, Ernest Robinson.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-4pm. A private family graveside service will be held.
