Obituary of Shannon Chandler

 

It is with saddened hearts that the family of Shannon Mary Chandler announces her death which occurred on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the age of 63. Shannon passed away peacefully in her home in Sussex Corner, NB.  She was a daughter of the late Augustus and Amelia (Robicheau) Chandler.

 

She is survived by her siblings: Heather Chandler of Halifax, NS, Shaun Chandler, Thessaloniki, Greece, Tamar Deveau (Raymond) of Meteghan, NS, Charles Chandler (Mary) of Maxwellton, NS, Kathleen Donovan (Patrick) of Sussex, NB. Her nieces and nephews: Shauna Chandler (Miles), Amy Deveau (Andrew), Ian Deveau (Catherine), Vanessa Budden (Matt), Marsha MacNamara (Ryan), Derek Chandler, Katelyn Lyons (Steve), Andrew Donovan (Brianna), John Donovan, Nicholas Donovan, and Maria Donovan. And her great-nieces and nephews: Arlo and Sela Rubin, Rowan and Hadley Budden, Madeline MacNamara, Sophia, Isabella, and Amelia Lyons.

 

Shannon was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and grew up in Maxwellton. Prior to moving to Sussex Shannon attended Agricultural College in Truro where she made life-long friends. She then moved to Sussex and started working at the Hatchery where she would meet many more friends over the years. Shannon knew every farmer that went into Shur- Gain and always held a conversation with them.

 

Shannon will be missed by her second family at Shur- Gain where she worked as a dedicated employee for over 40 years. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her passion of cooking and baking goods for them. Shannon loved her visits with her great nieces, and her face would always light up when they were around. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, watching Jeopardy, and spending time with her close family. 

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at noon.
