Obituary of Michael Louis Hynes

Mr. Michael Louis Hynes was born in Sussex on October 4, 1955; He was the son of the late John Philip Hynes and Teresa (Gillen) Hynes.  He was seventh in line to the throne out of a family of thirteen. Mike owned and operated Hynes Esso for 30 years. He was a well respected mechanic and most recently went to work part-time at City Auto, but he had so much fun there he became a full-time employee. Mike was an avid golfer, sharp poker and whist player, traveller and huge, huge Canadiens fan. His passions led to him being past-president of the Sussex Golf and Curling Club and longtime coach of the Sussex Moosehead Dry Old Timers’ Hockey team. He was a fabulous uncle to two generations of nieces and nephews.

He will live on in the hearts of his brothers: Hugh of Saint John, Edward of Penobsquis, James of Calgary, Robert of Toronto, Peter of Sussex, Timothy of Antigonish and Paul and his wife Karen of Roachville; his sisters:  Mary Ellen Sear and her husband Rick of Picadilly, Christine Andrew  and her husband Jim of Sussex and Frances Sear of Sussex; his sister-in-law, Mary Doherty (Ed) of Saint John; as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, friends and extended family.

Mr. Michael Louis Hynes of Penobsquis passed away at his residence on October 15, 2018 at the age of 63.
