Obituary of Otis Foster

With sadness, we announce the passing of R. Otis Foster, who died peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton on Thursday, March 21, 2019. He was born in Belleisle Creek, NB on February 19, 1937, a son of the late Charlie and Dorothy (LeClerc) Foster and husband of the late Marie (Ferris) Foster.

Otis is survived by his sons: Gordon Foster of Ottawa, ON, Andrew Foster (Muriel Gaudet) of Fredericton, NB; granddaughter Miranda (Jason) McDonald of Nerepis, NB; sister-in-law Marilyn Foster of Sussex Corner, NB; brother-in-law John Keirstead of Sussex, NB and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brothers Albert and Maurice and sister Helen Keirstead.

Otis Foster worked for the Department of Transportation of New Brunswick for 27 years.  He was a member of the Trinity Anglican Church men’s brotherhood and a past member of Kiwanis Silverados.  Otis’ past time also included watching: NHL hockey games, baseball and wrestling. His most favorite pastime of all was spending time with and giving treats to his dog Max.  He also greatly enjoyed playing cards (Auction 45s) with friends in Sussex, Sussex Corner, Apohaqui and New Maryland.  Otis also loved to listen to and attend venues hosting fiddle music including the Gagetown Fair.  We love you dad, you are missed.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 1 to 4pm.  Funeral service conducted by The Rev. Canon Tom Stradwick will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 2:00pm from Trinity Anglican Church.  Interment will be later at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery, White’s Cove.
