I was sadden to learn of Ray's passing. I imagine that this is a very difficult time for you all as you say good bye to wonderful husband, dad and grandfather.
I remember fondly my interactions with Ray, through the St. Paul's and Lockhart's where I sold him a lot of building supplies. A quiet, gentle soul.
My thought and prayers are with you all. May you find strength in your faith and the love and support of family and friends, comfort in the memories you shared, and peace knowing he no longer suffers the ills of this world.

My Condolences to Ray's family!I knew him as a member builder of the Canadian Home Builders Association Sussex Branch.I was a Canada Mortgage and Housing Associate CHBA member back in the earily 90's.He was a credit to his profession.Members of the CHBA had the highest level of training and a rigid code of ethics.We not only lost a great person but a quality Builder.Please Accept my sincere regrets for your loss!

So Sorry Donna, Adam, Philip and Sarah, it just breaks my heart to hear of Ray's passing. I have known Ray all my life, as we were both brought up in Knightville, and as kids we always had fun swimming, skating and other get togethers. I have good memories of our days in Knightville. You all have my deepest sympathy. Cherish all the wonderful memories you all have as, You'se were a close knit family. Donna, the most sincere condolences to you and your family.
Ray was one of my "favourite" people and I was privileged to be his friend. We were almost "twins", being the same age and born 21 days apart. To me he was a man of great integrity and it was such a pleasure to do business with him when he was doing the work on the Catholic church when I was president of the parish council. Then when he did some work on my home on Marshall Hill. Then again, as we sat down together in my office to order his new truck. There were delays in getting the truck but he never once complained even though he needed it for his business. He was so very proud of that pretty red and grey truck and I don't ever remember seeing it dirty!
We will always remember your kindness inviting myself, Sue and Jeff to your home for supper after Bobbie died. She has been gone now over 21 years and I know (from experience) you will always remain close to your best friend and partner as the years go by.

Ray was a prominant figure in my childhood - I have no memories of a time before he and my Dad worked together building homes. There were social times too, get-togethers at our family homes and recreation times on the Lake. Even many years after Dad retired, Ray & Donna would always enjoy visits and proudly attending special events like anniversaries and significant birthdays with us.
Ray & my Dad shared a remarkable calmness, and a way of helping to smooth out life's rough patches - just as their skillful hands could sand down wood to reveal its true lustre.
Everyone who knew Ray thought highly of him, I hope this can offer some small consolation to Donna, Adam, Philip and Sarah and the rest of Ray's beloved family. He will be missed.
