Uncle Winston, Lory-Ann and Colleen,
I was so sad to hear of Aunt Rachel’s passing. I can’t imagine how heartbroken you all must be.
While I have fond memories of visits as a child, it was these last few years of attending The MacAskill Family Reunion that I really came to know her and admire her. It was obvious she loved being around her family. She had a wonderful sense of humour, a great laugh, and enjoyed the teasing she often got from her grandsons. I loved hearing her say “Win-ston”. Sometimes it was like a warning…”You’re going too far”. Most times it was like her own unique laugh - said with a smile. She had that way of saying Lory-Ann and Colleen’s name too.
While I didn’t get to see her often enough, she was never far away thanks to social media. I will miss her posts and comments that helped us stay in touch.
Please accept my condolences. She will be missed. xo

Dear Lory-Ann and all the MacAskill family. My sincere condolences to you on the passing of Rachel. Words cannot express how shocked and saddened I am. I first met Rachel when quilting started downstairs in the hall of the Church. Over time we became friends. She loved to tease, especially me but we all loved her and her humor. Through the years she would call me on the phone just to ask how I was feeling. She was very considerate of others. I pray that the fullness of God's love will surround and comfort you in the difficult days ahead. I will miss her smiling face and phone calls. Thoughts and prayers are with you

I was saddened to receive the news of Rachel’s passing. I enjoyed working with her at the Milk Marketing Board. She was such a good soul. During my brief visit home this summer, we ran into each other at the supermarket. Rachel greeted me with a big hug and her genuine smile. I was delighted to catch up with her after so many years. Truly thankful to have crossed paths with her that summer day. My heart goes out to Rachel’s family, and to all those back home who loved her so much. Sending prayers, warm thoughts and deepest sympathies.

I was so sorry to hear of Rachel's passing. The first time I ever walked into your house you all welcomed me as family. She was introduced to me as "Colleen's Mom" and that was the name I always called her and she always giggled and smiled. I will miss seeing your comments to my post as you were one of my biggest supporters and encouragers. I will also miss running into. Hugs, love and prayers to all of you xo.
