It is with broken hearts that the family announces the passing of Donovan Gary Charles Asselstine on Monday, December 16, 2019, in Grand Manan, NB. Donovan was born on January 28, 1999 in Saint John, NB, a son of Jessica Cunningham (Adam Folkins) of Sussex, NB and Dwayne Asselstine (Keri Lyons) of Blacks Harbour, NB. Donovan was employed with Grand Manan Boats Limited, where he enjoyed the fiberglassing process of boat building. In addition to his parents, Donovan is survived by his siblings Gabrielle Robertson, Khole Asselstine, Emma Asselstine, Owen Asselstine and Ryan Asselstine. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Gary (Heather) Cunningham of Sussex, NB, Kimberly (Kenny Fitzsimmons) of Grand Manan, NB; paternal grandfather Charlie Asselstine of Sussex, NB, maternal great-grandparents Norman (Anna) Cunningham of Long Creek, NB. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Lena Asselstine. Donovan will be sadly missed by his aunts and uncles: Delta (Adam) Gallant, Dustin Cunningham, Kenny Asselstine, Steven Asselstine, Sarah Asselstine, Melissa Douthwright and also many great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8pm. The funeral service will be held at Wallace Community Chapel on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 11:00am.
