I remember quite a few years back before the move to New Brunswick. Jan Jaap and i were talking over coffee and the topic of golf came up he wanted to go but didn't have anybody to go with. I told him that i golfed and anytime he wanted to go i was down. He was so excited he went out and found a set of clubs i think at a garage sale. I told him we could share mine but he's a bit taller than me so they might not work for him but he could rent them from the club when we got there. He was like nope i need mine own. So golf day comes we went to the Nursery golf club by Lancome he was very excited. We get out on the course and i see that his set doesn't have a Driver, I told him not to worry he could borrow one of mine. About hole 4 we get talking about different clubs which ones we like the best, I tell him that I hardly ever use the one I'd lent him and he should just keep it. Well that's the best news of the day but he wont take it for free. So he looks through his bag and I have all the same clubs except one I'd never seen befor it's a 90° club. So he was like u should take this one then. I reassured him that he didn't have to do that but he wouldn't take no for answer. So we switched I have to say it was one of the best deals I'd ever done. I happen to absolutely love the club I ended up with and it has become my go to , and probably my favorite one. We ended up golfing again and he was like a little kid in a candy store he loved it so much and i think he fancied him self the new Happy Gilmore. We had an outstanding golf date when ever we could make it work. After the move to New Brunswick Jan Jaap made it clear that we were to bring out our golf club when we came to visit and we'd get in a round or two. Sadly we haven't gotten out there yet, but one day we will and we'll play a round for him. Jan Jaap was a great friend and second brother to me and I will miss him greatly. I hope he knew how much we all lover him and how much we will all miss him.
