Obituary of Alfred Richard Attoe
Mr. Alfred Richard Attoe was born in Erb Settlement on April 7, 1928; he was the son of the late Frederick and Georgie (Burgess) Attoe.
Alfred was a member of Silas James United Church.
Alfred was a very kind but humble man. He loved being in the woods and working hard was a daily ritual. By himself, he planted over 50,000 trees on his property. He took a lot of pride in his property and he would spend a whole day mowing the front lawn and making sure it looked perfect.
Alfred was very committed to his family and his church. He knew there was a place waiting for him in heaven.
Alfred was a good man who did what needed to be done. When his father became ill, he moved back to Erb Settlement to take care of the family farm. He built a beautiful home for he and Velma and made a living building houses for other people.
He will live on in the hearts of his loving wife, Velma; his brother, Herb of Erb Settlement; his sister, Alice Vincent of Saint John; his sister-in-law, Edith Attoe of Wickham; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Alfred Richard Attoe of Sussex, formerly of Erb Settlement passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on February 11, 2020 at the age of 91.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, John Attoe; his nephew, Paul and his brother-in-law, Frank Vincent.
