Obituary of Claude Gary Williams
It is with heavy hearts the family of Claude Gary Williams announces his passing on January 3, 2022 at the Sussex Health Center, with his family by his side.
Claude was born in Belleisle Creek on Dec 10, 1931; he was the son of Harold and Blanche (McLean) Williams.
Family was a very important part of Claude's life. His door was always open with a kind heart, and a cup of tea. He loved and cared for everyone. He was a very quiet and gentle man who would give what he had to someone in need.
Music was a passion of Claude's, from the age of 7 where he learned to play fiddle, guitar, banjo, piano, or anything musical. He enjoyed his kitchen Jam Sessions with family and friends. That was Dad's happy place. You could always find him at the table with a fiddle in his hand.
Another love of Claude's was hockey. Where he volunteered for several years as a coach. He also enjoyed playing hockey himself, as a goalie.
Part of his heart will always be in Salmon Creek at the family's homestead, where he loved to spend time hunting, and being with friends and family.
To mention a few of dad's professions in the later years of his life, he worked for S & G Music in the 60s and 70s, where he tuned and repaired pianos and organs, traveling to many provinces.
Claude worked as an electronic technician at Kings TV for several years, where he retired in the 90's.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara (Brooks) Williams; his children: Lesley Hemming (Ron) of Sackville, NS, Shelly Moss (Andrew) of Sussex, NB, Danny Williams (Jacquie) of Sussex, Sean Williams (Laurie) of Sussex and Samatha Cromwell (Keith) of Smiths Creek; his chosen son, Rob Pickett (Judy) of Cornhill NB, and their sons: Matt and Aaron; his grandchildren: Chris and Hayley Atkinson, Dylan Moss, McKelan Williams, Nataly and Jackson Cromwell, Jason Gaunce and Jillian Savage (Jeremy); his great grandsons:Oliver Moss Newman and Brody Vanhorne; his great granddaughter, Evi Savage; his brother, Fran Williams (Barb) of Apohaqui; his sister, Annabelle Lockhart of Plumweseep; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
