I only recently found out that Harold had passed away, the last time I saw him being about 5 years ago. While my memories of the past are somewhat fuzzy, I do remember the generosity of Harold while I lived at Bridges House on the UNB campus. His Saturday morning breakfast was where I was introduced to the Air Farce and the Globe and Mail and the idea of a shared communality with one's fellow students. Also, there was his occasional "Trip around the world" that left one wondering what planet you had visited the next morning. Thank you, Harold.

Well put Randy. Harold Sharp made an indelible impression on generations of young men who pased through Bridges House. He was a career counselor, a faculty advisor and above all, a great friend. I have never had a better breakfast than served Saturday morning at chez Harolds. I am so sorry that I never made it back to NB to say hello to an old friend

I had two connections with Harold while I attended UNB from 1973 - 1977. He was the head of the business faculty of which I belonged and the Don of Bridges House where I lived. Every Saturday, Shane and I would accompany Harold to the farmers market for supplies used in his famous breakfast gatherings. He bought and we carried. He used to tell everyone he met that we were his bodyguards. The truth is that Harold protected each and every student at Bridges by preparing us for our futures with his stories and wisdom. We were family. Rest in peace grandpa ... you did your work well.

Being from Sussex and on faculty at UNB and a friend of Harold's aunt Frances when I was a child, I always felt a connection with Harold. I remember visiting Harold's house and he had kindly let someone use one room to work on a quilt - a typical kind action. Harold was motivated by what he thought was the right thing to do and not by what others thought. I am sorry that I'm away and won't be able to attend the service.

Harold taught me an accounting course in his first year at UNB. I have wonderfully fond memories. He was an interesting prof, even in accounting at 8:30 am. I can still picture him, cheerfully holding forth, as he paced back and forth at the front of the room. May he count Heaven's treasures forever.

This is a very sad day. UNB has lost one of its greatest people, and his many friends have lost one of those on whom we could most count for support no matter what the need. He was a great friend and mentor, always willing to stick up for what was right and stick his neck out too if that is what it took. He was fearless and tenacious when it came to rights, and his love of the arts was legend. Harold is one of very few people who literally changed my life through his influence. Thanks for everything Harold. We need more like you. Fare thee well. Al

I really liked Professor Sharp. He was kind to us all and so helpful. He was one of my best teachers and had a great influence on me. The photo you have of professor Sharp is the same one on our graduation class photo in 1971. Here I am working at UNB and still in awe of the abilities of our students. Good teachers inspire others to try to be like them. Well done Professor Sharp!

Harold was my mentor in the 1970's. He taught me that accounting was fun, go figure. He was one of the kindest people that I have ever met and was so supportive of female students in business in the early years. He had a tremendous impact on the lives of many and the world is a better place for home having been here. Rest peacefully, dear soul.

It is with great sadness I have learned of passing one of the most colourful former member of our Faculty, incredibly friendly soul, full of humor and irony, compassion and love of life. Dear Harold you will be always in my memory! Wiktor
