Obituary of Annabel Hodgson

It is with feeling of great loss that the family of Annabel Hodgson announces her passing, which occurred on October 2, 2023 at the Loch Lomond Villa in Saint John. Born in Salem, NB, on November 19, 1922, one of 11 children, she was a daughter of the Late John and Mary (Myette) Brown.

Annabel was a deeply devoted, kind and loving mother to her seven children, a beloved Grammy to her many grand children and a loving faithful friend to those she called friend. She lived in New Brunswick most of her life except for a six year period in Ontario. She was Baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses in 1975 and attended the Bayside and Sussex Congregations over the years. She was loved and respected by all the Congregation members and their children. Annabel will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by many. 

Annabel is survived by her children: Allan Hodgson (Doreen) of Barnesville, Bill Hodgson (Karen) of Fredericton, Ann Blois (Earl) of Saint John, Ruth Sherwood of Chance Harbour, John Hodgson (Linda) of Saint John, Robert Hodgson (Tracy) of Barnesville, and Phil Hodgson (Sarah) of Saint John; her grandchildren: Carl, Norman, Laurie, Carol-Ann, Willie, Blair, Scott, Kevin, Kerri-Dawn, Kelly, Ken, Michelle, Allen, Rose, Curtis, Brent, Travis, Kathi, Trudy, Lori, John, Angie, Jill, Adam, Robert, Brett, Mark, Carrie, Jeff, Krista. Keean, Kory and Markie-Lee; She is also survived by her numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Annabel was predeceased by her loving husband, Wilfred. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was predeceased by her siblings: Mary, *Linda, Laura, Nellie, Louise, Edward, James, Milton and Alton. (*Linda, was given the same name of a baby from an earlier birth who died at two years old.)

Annabel was also predeceased by her grandsons, Wesley and Earl, and her son-in- law, Herb Sherwood.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). A celebration of Annabel’s life will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00pm from the Kingdom Hall, (1155 Main St, Sussex Corner.)
